Information you provide

Your account includes your first and last name, email, phone number and sign-in credentials. ZIP code, number of children and age ranges personalize nearby activities. Child names, photos, allergies and other playdate notes are optional. We also store plans, friendships, messages, chat photos and the sharing choices you make. Photos can be shared only in private group chats and accepted direct conversations. Chat photos are resized and location metadata is removed. They are not automatically screened. Reported photos are hidden from other chat members while the developer reviews them. The developer can view reported photos for this review.

Who can see it

Only friends can see your profile information, including your children’s first names, ages and allergies. Email, phone, passwords and children’s full birth dates remain private. Plans and availability are visible according to your sharing settings. Child information included in an invitation is visible to its invitees. You can send a playdate summary to a caregiver by text or email and choose whether to include your own children’s names, ages and allergies. You review and send that message in your messaging or email app. Emergency contact sharing is off by default. If you turn it on, parents on your playdates can see the contact’s name and phone in the playdate details. You can turn it off in Account. Community chats show your first name, last initial, profile picture, number of children, their ages and your messages. Children’s names and allergies are only visible to accepted friends. Phone numbers, email addresses and personal contact links are blocked in community posts. Meeting addresses are allowed, and you may choose to exchange contact information privately. People who receive your information may save or share it.

Chat review

Messages are screened for prohibited language before posting. A flag blocks the message and locks the sender’s account for developer review. The developer can see the flagged message and limited recent conversation context. Email alerts contain report information and a private review link, rather than the message itself.

Finding friends

If you choose contacts, we use their email addresses and U.S. phone numbers to find matching accounts. Contact names stay on your device, and the selected contact list is not stored on our server. Friend requests and invitations are sent only when you choose them.

Services and storage

Account and shared content are stored on our hosting infrastructure. Your browser also stores session and local preferences. Google sign-in, when chosen, supplies identity information; it does not grant access to your Gmail. Place and movie providers receive search information needed for listings. External photos, maps and provider links may connect your device to those services. Resend delivers developer moderation alerts.

Your choices

Edit your details and sharing settings in Account. You can remove optional information or leave chats. Contact support@calenkid.com to request access, correction or deletion of account data. Some records may need to remain for security or resolving reports. This preview does not yet offer automated account deletion.

Parents’ accounts

Calenkid! is for parents and caregivers. Children do not create their own accounts. Add and share child information only when you are authorized to do so.
